Art is the universal communicator. Not only the Deaf are challenged to communicate exactly what we mean. The deaf sign for "I love You" is incorporated in most of my creations. Whimsical movement, vibrant colors and mystic overtones combine to create all the themes seen in my art. Far East, Asian, Egyptian, Zuni, Greek and Aztec cultural influences flow within my designs. A world traveler, I am always on the move. Please contact my cousin Shelly Staten with inquiries.

The differences between my art and photography are night and day, like my varied interests. I’m constantly amazed by the serene beauty and magical happenings that happen in Nature. Architecture has always been an interest of mine as well. The juxtaposition of the organic with man-made is most interesting. My drawings and paintings often convey a sensual feel. I depict the beautiful nude female with a simplification of form.

My work is a contrast of abstract design with geometric order. I’m drawn to repeating images and tend to build those into my work, while at the same time, I like looser brushstrokes and flowing lines. To me, that feels similar to life. You organize and schedule life, but there are so many unexpected life events. It’s a mix of order and chaos.

Stephen Edwards spent over 30 years behind a black and white viewfinder in his career as a corporate and broadcast news cameraman and as owner of Pro Video Productions in the San Francisco Bay Area. Making the transition to still black and white film photography was a natural progression. “I’ve seen the world in black and white my whole life. I feel most expressive, creative, and comfortable in the black and white format because I like the abstract nature it conjures up.”

A painter and poet, I play in the crossroads of art & spirit. My paintings are visual stanzas of a poem I will spend my life writing - with brush & pen. I've had the honor to create and exhibit art in the United States, Europe & Micronesia. "As with poetry, painting is either a battle or a dance. Given the choice between music & a sword, I choose music." It's a lovely dance. Anna teaches workshops in prophetic art and poetry; see her listing in the Teaching Artists directory.

My art is guided by my instincts, my curious nature & sense of discovery, and great music rocking on my stereo.  My goal is not perfection but rather to honestly represent my efforts & the outcome each new creation presents, whether it's capturing the alluring beauty of a woman or the juxtaposition of various metals & found objects together to create a unique piece of art.  I currently work in oil, acrylic, watercolor, metal (copper's a favorite) and photography.

Landscapes and nature are what I began with, and truly love. The beauty of Southern Oregon combined with my love to travel provides never ending photo opportunities. I am the resident artist and Chef/Co-Owner of Maclevin’s Restaurant in J’ville for the past 11 years. I've been at the easel for the last 40 years, painting abstracts in prismatic color exclusively with Windsor Newton oils. My surrealistic style employs various construction mediums to elevate images 3-dimensionally from the canvas.
