I first started working with stained glass in 1982 and most of my work involved windows with landscapes. With the development of fusible glass a new world of possibilities arose - it can be blown, kiln-casted or formed with a torch, colors layered and shading achieved. I have been fortunate to study under three world-renowned glass artists:
Miriam DiFiore,
Roger Thomas and
Kathleen Sheard. My passion is Nature and my pieces are all about landscapes and wildlife.
Vicki creates functional and decorative fused glass items to beautify your home: soap dishes and candle holders, sushi sets, large bowls and platters with abstract designs in lively colors or scenes in muted and natural tones. Vicki also has a passion for creating handmade soaps for home or to complete a gift of glass. Please see her listing in the
Lifestyle Arts directory.
Inspired by French and Italian countrysides and her Southern Oregon surroundings, Katharine’s art is filled with sun-drenched colors that create charming, elegant and whimsical landscapes and vignettes. After earning her art degree from the University of Wisconsin, she pursued painting as her main focus, specializing in watercolor, acrylic and oils. Katharine continues to explore new themes from the whimsical to creative realism.
Landscapes and nature are what I began with, and truly love. The beauty of Southern Oregon combined with my love to travel provides never ending photo opportunities. The creative side of photography has moved me into many new directions. Working artistically with an image can transform a photo into an amazing work of art. I offer my work in Giclée prints and custom framed prints, perfect for home, office or a special gift. Visit my website to view my portfolio, and come back often as I regularly add new images.
I paint in an effort to give solid form to ideas that increase the depth of my experiences in the process of living. American Modernists and their quest to discover a history of art particular to the country they lived in connect me in my personal exploration with European impressionist and post- impressionist artists. I strive to continue their work and further my own understanding of how art concurrently creates and connects us to our culture.
