Art is the universal communicator. Not only the Deaf are challenged to communicate exactly what we mean. The deaf sign for "I love You" is incorporated in most of my creations. Whimsical movement, vibrant colors and mystic overtones combine to create all the themes seen in my art. Far East, Asian, Egyptian, Zuni, Greek and Aztec cultural influences flow within my designs. A world traveler, I am always on the move. Please contact my cousin Shelly Staten with inquiries.
My work is a contrast of abstract design with geometric order. I’m drawn to repeating images and tend to build those into my work, while at the same time, I like looser brushstrokes and flowing lines. To me, that feels similar to life. You organize and schedule life, but there are so many unexpected life events. It’s a mix of order and chaos.
Cathy DeForest is a book artist who integrates printmaking, photography, drawing, mixed media and letterpress into her artist books. Cathy specializes in one-of-a-kind books based on found objects and small editions of letterpress books. In addition to selling over 3,000 letterpress broadsides of her work, her books are in national collections and have been exhibited widely. Visits to her studio gallery can be arranged.
My paintings tend to revolve around the motion of animal life, horses running, fish swimming, buffalo strolling, and funny birds and bears. My passion shifts from day to day so I never know just what I'll end up with on the canvas. I've just embarked on a new adventure, having taken over a thriving gallery in Ojai, California, representing 10 accomplished artists. Naturally I'll continue to paint new works...just inside the front door of the
Trowbridge Gallery, and to stay in touch with my friends and collectors in Oregon.
An award winning photographer internationally known for his nature photography, Winston's stunning images enhance art and photography collections worldwide. "My imagery takes me places I have never been, places that free me from the pressures of a clock driven world, places that heal. I seek to reveal the essence of a moment or place gone unnoticed."
I’m inspired by Zen aesthetic principles of simplicity, understatement, asymmetry, and tranquility. Also by Vermeer and Edward Hopper. My most recent work is fine art portraiture, using natural light in a quiet place. If you’re interested please contact me for commissioned portraiture. I’m also a writer. You can check that out at
