A comprehensive directory of Southern Oregon's arts community and guide to events for its members, local arts enthusiasts, and those planning to visit or move to our region.

Connecting our Arts Community...to You!

Southern Oregon is a garden of unique and diverse creative and cultural talent. From distinguished fine artists to outsiders, our area is home to award winners and promising new talent in a vast range of disciplines and host to a spectacular array of yearly theater, music, food and wine festivals. As our continuing trend of excellence and achievement grows, so do our collaborations; increasingly multi-faceted, many events frame the primary work on display with a well-rounded presentation including music, wine tasting from local artisan wineries and gourmet catering using locally grown and made cheeses, chocolates and organic foods, all produced by true artists in their own fields. It is our goal to provide a comprehensive directory that will be a convenient hub for the promotion of local and regional artists, a collaboration reference for galleries, venues and event planners and a travel planning resource for visitors coming to enjoy the rich palette of our arts culture. Further, it is our hope that this resource will both unify the broad spectrum of our arts community and convey a compelling sense of the vibrant arts scene in Southern Oregon which encourages visitors to sample our nationally and internationally acclaimed artistic and cultural offerings.

Whoever you are, and whatever your interest in the arts may be, we hope you'll find this guide to our arts community both helpful and inspiring.

Announcements and Current Events

3/5/10: NEW BLOG! ART MATTERS!

Just in time for the 6th Annual Oregon Chocolate Festival and the opening reception for Jacksonville artist Addi Black's "Haiti" exhibition, we've fired up our long-planned blog, ART MATTERS! Brand new, but keep check in for coverage of these events and more additions coming soon, including calls for artists.

2/28/10:

Thanks to those who submitted events for our March calendar in the Jacksonville Review. We made the deadline with a full complement of art events!

2/20/10: New Classified Page!

In response to a great suggestion from one of our listed artists, we've added a classified page in the "Services & Supplies" section. What a great idea for artists to make excess supplies and equipment from their studios available to fellow artists! Classifieds are free to listed members of the site, just send an email with the text of your ad to: soar@soartists.com. Have art supplies to sell, but not listed yet? It's a great deal - check out the Listing page for more information and to get started.

2/15/10: Irelock Imaging Send-Off

Artists who want to send the Irelock Imaging crew off to begin their new lives with a "shot of love" have organized a going away party. Please join us at Irelock's location to fare them well on Saturday, March 13 from 11am - 3:30pm. If you'd like to add this to your electronic calendar, you can easily add it from ours. It's a potluck, so please bring something tasty to share, but do be aware that Olivia is very allergic to anything citrus, so best to save the duck a l'orange for another occasion.

You may also be interested to know that Irelock is selling all their equipment. If they have anything that might be helpful to you, this would be a good time to contact them with your inquiries. They will be leaving the area shortly after the send-off party, so don't wait too long. Check our Classified page under Services & Supplies for contact information.
